Touki Bouki
An unusual room that pays tribute to Senegalese cinema
Its name, its meaning
Before its renovation, this iconic room on our site was called Toko Toko. The name meant nothing to us, but it resonated with the brilliant Touki Bouki, the title of a film by director Djibril Diop Mambéty, a leading figure of the Senegalese New Wave.
You may enjoy watching it in our lounge-library or elsewhere on our site. Cinema, literature, music and photography are arts that nourish us, and we hope to share them with you.
